Amora kneels before the Altar of Helm, beginning her evening prayers to her Lord Torm the True.
She got the feeling of someone watching her, but before she could turn she could hear the priest behind her whisper....
"No don't turn around, I only wish to talk."

Wondering why a chilling voice in the heart of Helm's House would tell her not to face the speaker, Amora stands up slowly keeping her sword in neutral position but not turning to face the speaker. "I'm listening. Though I prefer to know who is addressing me."

"You already know of me my lady, I am Hugh the Hand of the Guild." Pausing for dramatic effect knowing he had her full attention. "Don't worry I'm not here to fight you, my contract ended with the attack on your friend Kobort. They only paid for a single lesson to be taught by my guild, though they do have a minor contract on his and the rest of your party's lives. Though yours is more tempting than the rest since he wants you alive." "Even now two of your friends walked into a trap of theirs. I they are probably dead as we speak," seeing her tense up, "no you will not make it in time to find them and help."

Letting the tension go, Amora says, "I have faith in my companions. As for you, why have you come if not to collect on my bounty? I would've thought you would be more cautious after our last encounter."

"I've taken necessary steps to ensure you don't strike as I only wish to talk. You wouldn't want something to happen to your friends while they shop. I highly doubt your mage could survive a similar attack, even by a Blade."
Seeing the tension of striking leaving her, "good you are reasonable and not so mindless like your brethren." "There are forces at work which you can barely comprehend at this time." "They will find their demoness and their little cult will thrive while my Body will gain great wealth from them. You are always welcome to join with me if you like."

"And why do you think a Sword of Torm would join an Assassin? We are nothing alike. You strike from the shadow and then slither away wence you came. I face the forces of evil so that they see justice just before I send them on their way to be judged in the Fugue."

Chuckling slightly, "you would be surprised at who some would consort with to complete their goals. You wouldn't be the first of Torm's faithful to employ my services in some way. Even the man that hired you has employed the Body's services."
"But you do mistake I harbor you no ill will at all, you were just defending your friend. I would have done the same had my friend been attacked beside me."
"For now I'll just watch, hopefully they do not meet my price before you do."
"You have questions don't you."

"A price. You only care for coins. Such a waste. A man of your skills could do much good for those unable to defend themselves, yet what good will coin do for you when your soul is judged?" Sighing, "Tell me, why would they want me to be taken alive? Does your employer want to sacrifice me to this Demoness or am I to be a trophy for his sick pleasures?"

Snorting, "Coins, I haven't worked for pure coins since I was a Hilt. There are greater treasures than mere coins one could acquire."
"As far as your other questions, Hedrack seems to think you would be more valuable an ally than to simply destroy you. Though if Bane were to order it he would have you killed. Far as a trophy he has plenty of them to play with."
"I will say his assistant wants you dead, that wouldn't be one I would mind killing for you if you like."

The shock evident in her voice. "Now you're offering your services to me? The level of your moral decay never ceases to amaze me. At the rate you're going you'll be asking to court me next." Slowly to show she means no threat and without turning she puts Validator into her scabbard. "Tell me your real reason you've come to see me?"

"Court you now there's a thought, I might have brought you something if that were the case." Winking at her the slight movement of his eyes distracting her for the split second for his hands to produce a single yellow rose. Laying it on the pew in front of him, "hard to come by this late in the season. But I do know people that can acquire things for me."
Again smiling knowing she had accepted the current truce when she sheathed her sword. "Or perhaps you would like to take him yourself? It could be arranged if you like, you just have to ask."

"Just ask? I'm sure there would be a price, and not one I would like nor be willing to pay. If this servant of evil wishes to seek me out, I'm not overly difficult to find. As for you, you dance around answering the only question that matters. Why are you here? And please no more dancing around the question. If you can not answer truthfully, then leave me to my prayers. One far more worthy should be getting my attention this evening."

"He's already sought you out, he has been spending his time studying you and your group looking for your weaknesses." "He will try to attack you at your weakest. But he can't resist a personal challenge if you put him to it. Just some free advice for you."
Pausing for a second, "you are right the next temple is in the volcanic ranges to the Southeast of here."
"I've tallied to long here, I have other tasks to attend to in this fine city before the midnight watch."
Taking a bow, as the image of him in the priestly robes shifts to that of a courtly noble. "I bid you a good night my lady."

Turning around and seeing the yellow rose upon the pew and her stalker gone, Amora looks about the room to ensure that he has gone. Scanning the room for evil and finding none, the Sword of Torm pick up the rose and ponders. He's been digging quite a bit to know my favorite flower. I don't like that he can come and go around my friends and I at will without our notice. Should I even trust his word on another watching us? He has nothing to gain from it that I can see. The most unnerving thing is that though he maybe a hired assassin he seems to have some code of honor. He could've killed me without me evening knowing he was here but did not. The thought that we have more in common than I care to admit is unsettling. Torm have I done right by you in this? Drawing her sword, placing the yellow rose on the alter, and kneeling down to the alter she prays hoping that an answer shall come to her.

Torm's warmth washes over her as she kneels in pray.
Time will tell of his intentions, know while he has killed for no more than a slight, he has never killed an innocent.
