The Interrogation
Terjon prepared several Zone of Truth spells for questioning the prisoners the next morning.
First the party interrogated the Sergeant that had surrendered, while the spell worked on him easily it was obvious he didn’t much about the greater goings on of the cult. His job was to protect the ‘Master’, also known as Lareth the Beautiful.
They had been warned of the party’s coming and Lareth did not think they needed to call in any reinforcements to handle the nuisance that the party was. With Lareth dead there was no pay and that is why he surrendered.
He is able to verify there are other groups about and that the goal is to finance something greater, but doesn’t know what.
The questioning of Violet the Mage, proved more interesting. Terjon could tell the Truth Zone was not effective against the strong will of the wizard.
Amora, a newly arrived holy knight of Torm began the questioning. The mage just smirked at the knight, when asking what they were doing at the moathouse.
Responding that she was about to eat lunch when this group of outlaws burst into their home and started attacking them. She knew it would strike a chord with the holy knight needling her like that.
It wasn’t till talk of her personal freedom came up that progress began being made in the questioning. Letting it known that Lareth worked for others and that the Temple was rising again, and that there were at least four other outposts like the one she worked at. And that Lareth had around forty to fifty men at his disposal.
When asked about where the rest were, she shrugged most are probably attempting to make money though some are taking their r&r in Nulb.
Terjon makes arrangements for her to be escorted to Verbobonc and to be banished from the area.
