Nicolas
Lord of Time
Intermediate Deity (Realms) – Dependent upon world and time, but Intermediate in most.
Symbol: Spinning Hourglass with both sides seeming to fill.
Home Plane: Plane of Time
Alignment: Lawful Neutral but tends Neutral as to most his actions seem chaotic
Portfolio: Time; Travel; The What If
Worshippers: Time Travelers; Chronomancers; Bards; The Curious; Scholars
Cleric Alignments: Any (though many tend to be Chaotic) - Realms Restricted to one step
Domains: Time; Travel; Magic; Oracle; Knowledge
Favored Weapon: Heavy Mace (War Mace)
Dogma: Exploration and chronicling of the events throughout time. Information seems to drive him in a continuous search throughout time. While the clergy themselves do not know what they search for, Nicolas is instantly brought aware of them coming across any reference to those known as the ‘Old Ones’. His driving factor is to prevent their return as he has seen a future where they do and cannot pierce beyond that.
Holy Days: New Year (High Holy Day); Shieldmeet; Equinoxes; Solstices
Clergy: Clerics choose at the beginning of their careers when to pray, once chosen it is set.
Midnight; Dawn; Noon; Sunset. Most chose Dawn as the start of a new day to mark the time. They are instantly aware of this time of day regardless of condition.
Most of the clergy are adventurers driven by a need to explore the lands (and/or Planes) around them. Something new will intrigue them, especially if it is something thought lost to time. Anything dealing with time travel will drive them into an obsession like need to obtain it.
The clergy that create and maintain temples to the Timelord tend to be quite scholarly and retired adventurers. They encourage the younger clergy to venture forth.
Temples: Temples to the Lord of Time tend to be small in appearance, and no matter how new it the structure was built takes on the feel of a much older building.
The largest has an entrance located in Daggerdale, though the building seems small it is quite large inside. This one is maintained by an elderly couple, though they don’t speak of it or of their past it is a common belief among the clergy that they were among the first to worship Nicolas. This is further fueled by the fact only one of them will talk to a priest or priestess. (One handles the Good & Neutral, the other the Evil clergy.)
