Day 0 Marpenoth 27 DR1372 NY5231 TS1442 AC12376 UC2107 WC1790 CR1347 NR340 MC3506 PR14 SC2622 Today my group was called before the Lord of Daggerdale; Lord Randal Morn. He seems to have a drow raiding problem in his fair dale. He's hired us to investigate and eliminate the problem. We are promised a reward of 5,000 gold pieces. Our spokesman is Callidora, she got us half up front. It was given to us in the form of a writ of credit to use within the Dale. Luckily for us it is honored at the High Temple. We have used the half to purchase a small magical bag of holding.
It took about three and half hours in the pouring rain to get out to the crypts they said the incursions seemed to be coming from. Our Goliath friend decided to bust in the door of the larger crypt first, finding it clear he went to the smaller crypt. It took some time but he was able to bust down the door. Well here is where we ran into trouble as a lighting bolt shot out striking several of us.
It was a tough fight but all told it was a Vampire and two of his spawn. I've determined from reading the carvings on the Crypt the Vampire was named Chahir.
After healing the group, we decided to rest in the larger crypt out of the weather for the night as after we did a search of the area, it was close to night fall anyways.

Day 1 Marpenoth 28 DR1372 NY5231 TS1442 AC12376 UC2107 WC1790 CR1347 NR340 MC3506 PR14 SC2622 Snowing, three inches on the ground and still coming down.
Use of a Break Enchantment spell was used by the gnome ("Bob") to unstone the headless statue of Chahir to recover his treasures.
We decided to enter the crypts themselves, Aukan broke open the massive doors between the statues of Neuril, they were chained from the inside.
As we entered we found the bodies of five drow, three males and two females. They had been stripped of anything of value save a house tabard. We piled the bodies into an empty burial chamber beside where we found them. I planned to prepare spells to speak with the dead the next day.
Continuing deeper into the crypts, we rounded a corner to see a close door on the left and one just past it on the right.
Aukan burst into the first one on the left. As we started to enter the room, Aukan triggered a summoning trap. Two celestial lions appeared. They were easily dispatched as we proceeded to check out the crypt.
Looting the crypts with a minor protest from Xek, we decided to hit the next room.
This is where things went crazy.
Aukan shoulder the door like all the others in the past. A death glyph flared. Luckily it wasn't strong enough to kill him. Then the damn fool did it again, with it flaring again. He must worship Tymora, cause he was lucky.
Bob decided to use a knock spell on the door. Again the glyph flared, again Aukan survived.
But what was inside was much worse. A statue possessed with a ghost. The animated statue was easily overcome, the ghost not as much. Callidora ended up running when it tried to possess her. Thank Nicolas it didn't manage to. We were lucky that fight, we were able to dispatch her without any permanent damage done. Poor Xek, he was nearly sobbing when I hit him with the restoration magic. But the battle did take it's toll on us. We decided to head back to town and question the heads of the dead drow. And to report the undead problem at the crypts to Lord Morn.
Arriving that afternoon of Marpenoth the 28th, we informed Lord Morn what had occurred. One of his advisors was a cleric of Tyr, Tunfer the Stout. He also prepared a spell to speak with the dead as I told him I could only prepare four castings in the morning and we had five bodies.
I also prepared several restorations for the morning and a spell to communicate with the Time Lord, should the need arise.

Day 3 Marpenoth 30 (October) DR1372 NY5231 Weather Clear Very Cold (13-19F) 6" of Snow on the ground
We returned to the Dordien Crypts, arriving a little before lunchtime.
Venturing deeper this time, we pass through what appears to be the less wealthy crypts, with a statue of Jergal guarding over them. Luckily the others decided not to test the statue as I told them it was covered with a moderate transmutation upon it. They left these crypts alone.
Continuing on, we were attacked out of the darkness by a Roper. We were able to dispatch it with some difficulty but none the worse for wear. My healing abilities showing what an asset they are to the group. Though it does make me wonder if the Lord would allow the healing touch to be reversed as well much like the inflict spells. Something to research.
While I used the monocle to search for magic in the Roper's nest I was able to discern an Illusionary Wall.
This group not one for subtleties burst through the wall to see what was on the other side.
A long painful battle later, we watched as the two bebilithes disapated into goo back to the lower planes from wence they came. Both Aukan and I's armors were damaged but still functional. I will have to plan to use some mending spells in the morning on them.
Again we spy another Illusionary Wall on the far side of this chamber, moving in there is a crying female drow on the far side. She starts in with a sob story in Undercommon, when Bob spied the Aranea above the doorway and cast a spell at it. It dropped dead from it, and Aukan hit the other one with the sob story bloodying her.
I gave her a chance to surrender and she did suprisingly. But her story told why she did. Lolth has fallen silent and hasn't answered prayers in months.
Her name is Briza, she drew us a map of the area and what we could expect behind the wall of stone at the end of the passage. As well as telling us that Szith Morcane lay beyond the hole in the passage before the wall of stone. As well as that Tierak Morcane and her three guards are in the chamber beyond the next Illusionary Wall.
She asked me questions of the Lord of Time, and I answered them. She was an eager convert, even the Lord of Time took her almost immediately upon her reciting of the first prayer.
Our group prepared themselves to take on the Drow Priestess along with her guards in the next room.
Bob used a spell to send acid onto the web trap at the all, eliminating it from hampering us. Though he made himself appear to be a displacer beast as well. The first two guards opened up with lighting directed at us all. They were quickly dispatched moving in that left Tierak and her Spellguard, I moved in and called her out by name telling her she didn't have to die today.
That ended the hostilities for now as we entered into talks. During the talks I let it slip I knew of the silence of Lolth, the Spellguard seized the opportunity and used a Wand of Lighting on Tierak killing her. Callidora turned him to stone.
Needless to say I was upset at the development as the intel we were gathering from her was valuable.
We decided to camp here for the night after we searched the area.

Day 4 Uktar 1 (November) DR1372 NY5231 Weather 40F with snow melt 5" of snow still on ground
Leaving the rooms behind the illusionary walls, we continued down the passageway.
While searching a several ghouls appeared from nowhere and attacked. We suspected they were summoned but didn't see a glyph that did it. As we finished them off, a Maurezhi attacked us. At least that answered the question of how the ghouls appeared. While dispatching it we also encountered drow sentries with a spider of some kind with them.
Callidora was able to stone one of them, but the other got away, along with the spider, in our fight with the Maurezhi.
By the time we advanced down their slide hole and got to the wall of stone on the map provided by Briza, the hole leading down to Szith Morcane was no longer there. It appeared they used a stone shaping spell to cover it.
Bob used a Passwall spell to allow us passage through to where the driders and spiders were told to us to be.
Moving into that area, we started to the right, Aukan fell through an Illusionary Wall pit trap. That is when the two driders opened up on us as two huge spiders charged us from the left.
Xek was poorly positioned, but he reached out and sent both of them somewhere within seconds of each other.
The one drider fell to Xek's energy ball. The other was unaffected by it. Bob made a bridge over the pit, and Aukan charged across it having just climbed out of the deep pit. But the Drider dispelled it as he charged across sending him falling back into the pit.
What entailed after that was nothing more than pure chaos.
We had to chase the remaining drider throughout the crypts to finally take it out. I think it was about to surrender to me when Bob killed it.
After this we decided to head back to Daggerfalls and report our findings to Lord Morn.
We stopped and collected things (statue and Tierak's body), on the way out. The others wanted to hike back to Daggerfalls, vice my teleport.
We arrived late in the evening, but were able to get an audience with Lord Morn. I think Callidora irked him somewhat. I tried to smooth it over, for the most part I was successful. Though he still seemed a bit mad over the exchange. He did say he was open to parlay with the rulers of Szith Morcane.
After our return to the Nymph's Hair and the Adventurer's Vault, I excused myself and headed to the Temple of Time.

Day 5 Uktar 2 (November) DR1372 NY5231 It was a gamble but it paid off somewhat. I think it was worth the risk bringing her back. Our talk yielded information that could prove valuable.
Zedarr, a Zealot follower of the White Banshee. Has a pet displacer beast according to her. That is why they thought we were sent by Szith Morcane, Bob looked like a Displacer Beast when we first struck.
Dorina, sister to Zedarr, it is she that rules Szith Morcane now. Tierak had no information on the going ons in the city itself. Only what they heard from survivors and those fleeing the city. What followed was the attack on the outpost of Szith Morcane.
Though she continued to scowl, the conversation had it's moments of levity. Mainly because she knew I had the advantage, as she had no gear other than the light gray smock I had her dressed in when I brought her back in. She asked for gear and a way to leave if she wasn't to be my prisoner. I told her I would be back, and left a holy book of the Time Lord's there in case she wished to take a chance with her new life.
I deliberately took my time returning sometime later. I could tell she had read through the book somewhat, but she seemed uninterested. I put some normal gear on the bed along with a pack with food for a couple of weeks. Also within the bag I put a condensed version of the holy book. Perhaps she would change her mind the further the Spider Bitch is silent from her
She wanted safe passage to Cormaanthor, I promised it. I would take her to the forest come night fall. Leaving her to her thoughts, I went to the Nymph's Hair in hopes I would find one of the Moon Sisters.
One was dancing and I asked for a word, I think she thought I wanted more till I explained what I needed and how I thought her and her sisters could help me. I told her of Tierak and her desire to return to the depths, along with what we had learned about the silence of Lolth. She helped me scry the glade she described to take her to and she would be waiting. I thanked her and returned to the Temple.
I returned to Tierak, I've secured your safe passage, and nightfall has returned to the land. It is safe for you to travel now.
Her perputal scowl truly deepened when we appeared at the edge of the glade under a near full moon to a drow dancing naked within it. She accused me of betraying her, I told her this is how I secured her safe passage. The moon sisters will not harm her if she commits no hostile action. Nor will they hold you prisioner I told her.
Hopefully the prideful drow listens to the moon sisters, I don't think she would be well received in Menzoberranzan either with this silence of Lolth. Pretty sure after the demonstration Tierak's spell guard put up that the clergy has been keeping very quiet about it all.
Saying my goodbyes, I returned to the Temple of Time. To converse with my fellow clergy has they visited as well as to get a much needed rest in. I decided to return and meet my party after breakfast come the morning.
