First we start with 2 adventuring dwarves (Yureak & Josgrak), and their goblin side-kick (Droop), who made a name for themselves by being a part of a group that freed the town of Phandalin from a marauding band of brigands that were connected to an evil drow that had taken over the recently discovered Echo Wave Cave. After unburdening the town and returning the cave to the rightful claimant, they continued on with a druid drawn to their renown (Aislynn), and a lost gnome (Kiawin). They headed east toward Triboar, where the famed Royal Armorer of Citadel Felbarr lived and worked, to get better armor. On their way they were accosted by the last of the Cragmaw Tribe (with the exception of Droop, of course), 8 goblins and a goblin boss, the roving party of bugbears from Cragmaw Castle, 5 bug bears, and 2 lost ogres. Then they were met by a group of Wood Elves that snuck up on Droop while Droop and the Aislynn scouted around. Aislynn assured the elves that this goblin was a good goblin, the famed goblin side-kick of Phandalin, and the elves assured them the rest of their travels to Triboar would be incident free and disappeared into the wood.

Yureak & Josgrak met with Ghelryn Foehammer and ordered some armor, and bargained a price with armor gathered from there adventures. While waiting, Ghelryn ask them to take supplies to his miners and return with the ore, for 100 gp. The group left and on there way encountered a group of orcs (6) led by and orog that had recent elf ears strung around his neck. Then upon arriving at the mines, they learn that the miners uncovered a group of undead (5 Ghouls and a Ghast). But with the undead they found mithral plate armor. They return to Triboar and revelled in there victory by drinking copious amounts of ale, throwing goblins through the air, riding ponies, puttin' on airs, turning a cleric of Helm to Tempus, and learning all about cans of tuna!

The next morning, they are woken by the screams of a giant attack. Our hardy adventures (and a goblin riding a pony and brandishing a lance) charge into the fray fighting 2 fire giants and there posse. In the end, they heavily wounded one fire giant and killed off there entire entourage, but not before taking heavy injuries, 1/3 of the town up in smoke, and the fire giants getting away with a large piece of adamantine that was buried in the middle of town. But through all that, we are left with this image: 1,000 xp

In the aftermath of the attack of the fire giants on the town of Triboar, the adventures begin the task of helping the town put out fires, helping the wounded and burying the dead. The father and grandfather of the mother and daughter that where saved by the leaping and bounding dwarf offered his perfuse gratitude and regretted that he had nothing to offer the group, but he did provide information on an opportunity. A 10-day or more ago, a traveling merchant friend had passed through Triboar and mentioned that he thought he saw Weevil Shortwick, a wanted Halfling rouge, cleaning stables in Xantharl's Keep. There were wanted posters in Longsaddle offering a reward of a couple of thousand gold pieces to deliver him alive to authorities in Mirabar. The grandfather had thought about going himself, but decided he was getting too old for such things, but thought you guys would be able to benefit from the info.
As the evening wore down, the Lord Protector of the town, Darathra Shendrel, cornered you guys and told you that she was concerned that Fire Giants were wandering this far south and west and hoped that you could deliver an account of what happened in Triboar, to the Harpers. She instructed you to take a platinum badge, bearing the symbol of Triboar, to Dral Thelev, a one eyed half orc proprietor of Danivarr's House, an inn in Everlund.
As you were drinking your ale and recovering from the days trials and tribulations, the owner of the inn that you were staying in, but was bowled by a boulder, offers thanks to you for your effort in the town and was impressed by you effectiveness in fighting fire giants. She relays the days when she, herself, was an adventure and recalls a former adventuring companion, a wealthy knight named Harthos Zymorven, who had a giant slayer greataxe. She suggested that he might be willing to part with it if you mention her name (Urgala Meltimer) and explain your reason for needing it. He was living at Zymorven Hall, his ancestral keep, located on Rauvin Road, northwest of Sliverlmoon.
As you were about to turn in to begin your travels in the early morning, a merchant of the Lion's Share, a satellite of the Lionshield Coster, heard that you were leaving to travel east on the Evermoor Way, and offered you 100gp to ensure safe delivery of costume made horse harnesses to Noanar's Hold. He is able to have the crate packed and ready to travel by early morning, with horse (named Boris) and cart and is willing to part with the horse and cart, and let you have them, to ensure safe delivery.

The two day travel east to Yartar, the first town on the way, was uneventful. Kiawin, having just recently been through Yartar, directed them to The Pearl-Handled Pipe, a nice inn with elegant but eclectic décor. Everyone was ready to settle in, but Droop wanted to train horse and lance. He headed out and was easily able to find the Shield Tower that they passed on the way in, and the Dwarves and Aislynn followed, looking for entertainment. Droop was stopped at the guard gate and refused entry and he started to fuss and insult to try to get in. So much so that he got the attention of the Sergeant-at-arms. The Sergeant saw an opportunity to train his new recruits and decided to let him in. Droop quickly dispatched all 10 recruits, and earned the respect of the Sergeant, and the recruits earned his ire. The Sergeant awarded Droop with the badge of the city guard, and the invitation to return.
The next morning, with a few buff spells to back him up and a surprise attack, Droop returned and dropped all 10 recruits at once.
The group continued there trek east, but on the second night, 4 Crag Cats ambushed the group while they slept. They were able to recover quickly and able to defeat them in short order.
160 xp.... and 4 nice pelts.
Then they arrived at the next established town on the Evermoor way, Calling Horn.

The motley crew arrives at Calling Horn, mid day on their 3rd day since leaving Yartar. After 3 days on the road, the group is quick to bathe, rest and drink. Droop seems smitten with the proprietor, Tamalin Zoar; and Aislynn, looking to keep the goblin occupied, and possibly looking to have some fun herself, gives Droop a flower to give to Tamalin. Droop then thinks he will marry Tamalin, but the Dwarves tell him he has to court her for 10 years, 10 years starting when he gave her the flower, which disappointed Droop immensely, till he realizes that Aislynn gave him the flower, which means that she is engaged to Droop!
In the early morning, there is a sound of shouting and fighting that wakes everyone up. Rushing to the commotion, the group finds that 2 trolls are trying to claw there way into the inn's stables, and Tamalin's guards are already engaging the trolls. The group comes to their aid and take down the trolls without losing any of the guards. Tamalin thanks the group and relays to them that troll attacks have be becoming more common of late. She offers the group a reward if they can find the reason for the increased troll encounters. The group declines, with too many demands on their plate already.
Trolls at Calling Horn - 250 xp each. On there first night out of Calling Horn they see a horse drawn cart being pushed down Evermoor Way. They hail the travelers and ask why they rush so. The cart has a family and their meager belongings and they say they are headed south, away from the threat of giants, from the increasing giant activity in the north. Kie convenes them to stay and rest their horse and the group will provide protection for them this night so they can rest.
The group then travels south to Noanar's Hold, to complete their first task on their to-do list. They arrive and head straight to the keep to deliver the harnesses. On arriving at the keep and knocking on the door, a court dwarf answers and allows them to drop off the crate before ushering them out and quickly shutting the door again. Droop, at having been treated so rudely by a "fellow dwarf", unleashes a sting of insults that even draws a rebuke from his dwarven surrogates, but does not receive any reaction from the keep.
Retreating to the inn in town, the White Hart Inn, the group washes the dust from there throats and settles in. They see 3 finely dressed nobles bragging of their hunting prowess and learn that they are from Neverwinter and have played a game with their inheritance. The one who lays the killing blow on a hill giant will receive all the inheritance. They leave in the morning to see how wins. Between the nobles bravado and her betroths attention, Aislynn would rather sleep under the stars and climbs to the roof of the inn to sleep in peace.
On leaving Noanar's Hold they pass a merchant traveling south delivering 4 squealing pigs. On there next leg of the journey, further along the Evermoor Way, they pass more peasants heading south, away from the increasing giant activity in the north, and specifically a hill giant attack in their village. The group also spies a Copper Dragon circling lazily in the sky to the north.
The next stop on their travels is Olostin's Hold, where Droop deftly steals the Flaming Flagon from the Flaming Flagon.
One day out of Olostin's Hold, the group encounter a hill giant and his small entourage of ogres and a bugbear.
The group surprises the entourage and dispatches them all.

Our adventures finally arrive at the walled city of Everlund, to meet the one-eyed half orc. All go to meet the half orc, except Droop (didn't anybody think that letting the goblin alone in the city was a bad idea?) They meet the half orc and he offers them a drink, which causes them to teleport to a teleportation circle in an upper floor of Moongleam tower, the local HQ of the Harpers. They meet the head archmage and fill him in on the giant activity that they have seen and he is very interested in the pattern of activity. For promised continued help with the growing giant crisis, the archmage lets them use the Harpers Teleportation circle, that can transport them to Yartar, Loudwater, Neverwinter, Waterdeep, Mirabar, and Everlund. He also ask them to impress upon the Captain of the Guard in Goldenfields to be wary of the increased giant activity, and while they are there, they can deliver the seeds for his new breed of pepper, which he calls Krowen's Azer pepper (makes one immune to the effects of environmental cold for 8 hrs.) After they are done with the archmage, the four adventures plus one chicken and one tressym, go to look for Droop. They find him in a stockade on the Market Square. They vouche for him, that and with the reputation that they are developing, they let him go on the condition that he leaves NOW. Outside of Everlund, on there way to Silverymoon, they encounter another hill giant and company.

Our adventures make it to Silverymoon, the hometown of Kiawin. She directs the group to the Nymph's Hair, the inn, tavern, fest hall, and magic shop of Kiawin's Grandfather, Godwin. Here they rest and spend their hard won funds on the necessaries of an adventuring life. Godwin has a business partner associate, Nic, who pops in and out, and Droop thought to catch him, but out they both popped out, and when Nic returned, Droop was nowhere to be found, lost somewhere in time and space...
After there rest, they continued North toward Zymorven Hall, and the promise of possibly finding a Giant Slayer GreatAxe.
Headed north, they encounter a group of orcs and then later a Fire Giant searching with his Rod of Vonindod.

Info on history of Vonindod - The Thousand Year War was a conflict between dragonkind and the giant nation of Ostoria. It began in the Time of Dragons, around -26000 DR, and lasted until about -25000 DR. The giants created a powerful colossus construct called Vonindod to help them in the fight against the dragons.

Arriving at Zymorven Hall, they are greeted by the Lord of the Keep, Lord Harthos Zymorven. Ask about the axe, he point to a wood pile in need of chopping. But on the mention of his prior adventuring partner and friend, Urgala Meltimer and the Fire Giant whose shrunken head was in Josgrak's possession, he regrets to info that his son, Harthal had stolen the giant slayer axe. He stole the axe in definance after Harthos disowned him for marrying a common thief from Yartar. He says that you are welcome to it if you can recover it. Kiawin ask for a deed of ownership, and Harthos had his scribe write one up. The next day was back on the road the Everlund and the teleportation circle to Yartar.
Arriving in Yartar, they ask the local guards, that they knew from Droops training of new recruits, if they knew of Harthal or of a giant slayer axe. They did not. Next Aislynn wrote a message in the sky for Harthal to come and receive his inheritance. 4 guys arrived claiming to be Harthal, but they were frauds. There next stop was the local taverns. There first stop was the "One Foot in the Boat" tavern. They ask about a giant slayer and a thief. The barkeep said that if you want giant slayers, go to "Beldabarr's Rest" Inn. If you are looking for thieves, go to the "Wink and Kiss". The go to the Wink and Kiss and ask about Harthal and after a while of making inquires, a note is slip to them to meet outside. A lady says she can locate Harthal for 200 gp up front, Aislynn charms her and gets her down to 100 gp. 3 hours later she is pissed about being charmed, but she made a deal and returns with the info that he is in jail for killing a man.
They see Harthal in jail and is only able to get a description of his wife. With that, they return to the Wink and Kiss and locate his wife. They learn that the crooked watch captain has the axe. Kiawin also ask the Harpers Mage at the teleportation circle about the watch captain.

Our adventures wait for the shift change and the more senior, day Watch Captain, Reswald Hornraven. They accost him as he is headed into work and explain their problem to him, providing the writ as proof of possession of the allegedly stolen axe. He is skeptical, but, since he is headed in to work and will see the night Watch Captain, he might as well ask about it.
They follow the Day Watch Captain to the Watch Post. Yureak cast Zone of Truth and, while having it there, Reswald ask the group if the axe did belong to them. They responded in the affirmative. He then ask the night Watch Captain, Tholzar Brenner, about the axe. Knowing that he could not lie, he admitted that he had it, and was just.... securing it, that it was safer under his protection. He said it was at his home and if they would just follow him.
Reswald, considering the matter settled released them. Tholzar released his contingent of body guards and proceeded to escort the adventures to his home. The group suspected an ambush and prepared themselves. Once in the home, the 8 guards that were dismissed, appeared after laying in wait, but the adventures where ready. Kiawin appeared behind Yureak and hasted Joskrak. Aislynn paralyzed Thozar, but his guards fought on. Aislynn and Josgrak where quickly surrounded, and Yureak guarded Kiawin. Kiawin helped Aislynn with the group that surrounded her and took down one that tried to leave when Aislynn changed into a bear. Yureak and Josgrak chopped through the rest, but did not kill them, holding their killing blow. After all were incapacitated, Kiawin, wanting to prove herself right, immediately went to get Reswald.
(Kiawin gets an inspiration point, playing the PC so well)
The rest of the group, as quickly as they could, tied up the bad guys and acquired what they could before the Reswald arrived.
(375 xp each)
The groups next stop was Goldenfield, to take Krowen's pepper seeds to the Abbott, and to impress upon the Captain of the Guard, Strog Thunderblade, to be vigilant, especially with the increased giant activity.
The adventures teleport from Yartar to Waterdeep. In Waterdeep, they arrive in a crypt in the City of the Dead. The attending mage, Thestryl Mellardin, a pale wisp of a girl, lets them know where they are and how to return, because the crypt is sealed by an arcane lock and the entrance to the teleportation circle is guarded by a shield guardian. They spend the night in Waterdeep, to allow Kiawin to contact her Grandfather, then head to Goldenfields on horseback.
In two days, they arrive. Aislynn goes to the abbey to seek the Abbott, Ellardin Darovik and deliver the seeds, of which Ellardin has been anxiously awaiting, and to deliver the warning to not be complacent with the security of Goldenfields. Aislynn then directs the dwarves to the Inn, Northfurrow's End and the famed Goldengulp. Kiawin was directed to the library at the abbey, then made her way to the Inn. Aislynn went to find an acquaintance she remembered from time at Goldenfields, Zi Liang. Aislynn went to find Zi because of her noted concern for the security of Goldenfields. Kiawin, upon arrival at the inn, saw a lady, sitting alone in a corner reading a book on magic. Kiawin immediately sat and inquired about the book, without introduction, or interest in the person reading it, to the point of pestering. The dwarves tried to ease her into it by ordering a drink for the two. The Lady was Naxene Drahkala, a mage attaché from Waterdeep.

Kiawin continues her interrogation of Naxene in a quiet corner of the Northfurrow's End, while the Dwarves partook of the famed Goldengulp and continued a long held Dwarven tradition of storytelling over a few mugs of ale. It was beginning to be evening and the workers in the fields came in from there days work, and it was not long before a large crowd gathered around the Dwarves to be regaled of fanciful tales of a goblin who thought he was a Dwarven Priest of Tempus and rode a pony to charge a Fire Giant with a toy lance. The Halfling, Oren Yogilvy, the only permanent entertainer working in Goldenfields, soaked up the stories... as well as the ale.
Night came and all retired to bed, when in the wee hours of the morning, the drunk and stumbling Halfling, Oren Yogilvy, spotted a group of intruders as he was trying to find the building in which he slept. His calling woke our group of adventures and they went to see what was amiss. They spotted the intruders through the fog and went to encounter them. They found the Moon Biters Gang, a group of 10 goblins and 2 ogres, lead by 4 bugbears. The adventures engaged the group and had a hard fought win. But before they are able to recover, they hear shouts of another encounter. They responded to find a group of 6 guards engaging a similar group. They assist with this group and saved a downed guard. They again heard more shouts and continued on to find 6 more guards running from 2 hill giants that were pulling chunks off the wall and throwing it at the guards. Two guards go down before our adventures can close in and engage the hill giants. They are unarmed, save for the chunks of wall that they were throwing, so when the dwarves close to melee combat, one of the hill giants belly flops onto Josgrak. The adventures kill the prone hill giant and turn there attention to the lone intruder. He then curls into a ball and weeps. Kiawin charges in to spare him as Yureak is poised to deliver the killing blow. Kiawin can make out that the hill giant is saying "stop" and "hungry" or "food". Through sobs, Kiawin learns that his name is Lob and he is here to find food for his chief, Guh. Also that he is hungry, too. She promises him food if he does not fight back and they talk more.
xp - 2,565 each (this should put you at 14,000 xp)
possessions on hill giants - moldy and stinky wheel of cheese, Large iron bell, a beehive (still has a few pissed off bees inside), giant sized necklace made of bone, mangy fur pelt, 6 dragon scales (3 copper, 2 green, 1 red), a bronze crown, and a golden bird cage with electrum filigree containing a, barely alive, song bird.

Kiawin goes about securing the hill giant and explaining to the guards that he is more useful alive than dead and that he and she have an arrangement. About that time, as twilight gives shapes to forms in the distance, little screams come from beyond the wall, then flying overhead, then ending with a thud somewhere behind our adventures. Climbing the wall to see what is happening, the dwarves see, in the distance 6 ogres with a contraption strapped on their back that worked like a trebuchet, throwing goblins wearing spiked helmets. Yureak starts to cast spells downrange, while Josgrak tells Kiawin and Aislynn what he sees. Kiawin starts casting as well, while Aislynn treats some of the victims of the spiked helmets.
Knowing their raid has failed and with nothing to gain, what is left of the attacking force retreats into the distant forest.
225 xp each
The dawning morning shows most of the town of Greenfields up and around the scene of the attack. The Abbott thanks the adventures for there efforts to protect and help the town and its people. The captain of the guard vehemently wants the hill giant out of Greenfields. Kiawin says she will leave as soon as she can, but the opportunity to dissect a fresh specimen is too tempting to pass up. Lob, her captured hill giant sits and waits, surrounded by 10 guards, ordered there by the captain of the guard, while Kiawin begins her dissection. Carving pieces of flesh to get to the organs, she throws the pieces over her shoulder. Lob, seeing pieces of meat flying from Kiawin and her having said that she would feed him, begins to eat.
The Dwarves return to the Nortfurrow's End and are treated to drinks, on the house from, the proprietor. He thanks them and offers them a ring that was given to him years ago that represents a special favor. Should he need something, just say his name, Keltar Dardragon, and he would appear and provide assistance. He has never needed it, but maybe you guys would.
After her dissection, and with Lob and guards in tow, she heads back to the Inn to prepare to leave. See meets up with the drinking dwarves and says she is getting ready to go and get Lob out of Greenfields, and they need to find Aislynn. While they are together, Naxene confides to the group that she feels that this attack on Greenfields is just the beginning, and now is the time for drastic measures. She urges the group to seek out a powerful good dragon and use the dragons to defeat the giants. She suggest the Lords Alliance should support the plan, given the gravity of the situation. She states that she knows of a dragon expert in Waterdeep by the name of Chazlauth Yarghorn and that they should seek him out and relay her idea.
Needing to leave ASAP, Kaiwin buys a wagon and 2 oxen. When she is ready, she finds that the battered and recently feed Lob, had dosed off and was asleep, surrounded by his cadre of guards. She taps him awake and he comes to consciousness surrounded by armored guards with pointy sticks. Kiawin tried to calm him, but he rears up in fear, ready to defend himself. The guards, on alert and leery of the hill giant, attack quickly and finish the bruised and battered hill giant before Kiawin can hope to calm him down. The stunned and devastated mage stared blankly at the remains of the hill giant as a single tear became a torrent and she ran to her room.
The dwarves, shrug their shoulders at the dead hill giant but go to check on Kiawin. Josgrak relentlessly knocked on Kiawins door even through request to leave her alone and magical blast at the door. Finally to get away, she escapes through the window. Once outside, she is accosted by the sight of the dead hill giant and unleashes a barrage of magical attacks onto the dead body. On the way back to her room, Josgrak follows her and tells her of a magic ring they received and she should check it out. She refuses and tells him to leave. He refuses and thinks that she needs a god bop on the head, to gain her senses, so he takes the flat of his axe, and, not realizing his strength, mashes the top of her head. This does a lot more than he intended and he swiftly leaves before she throws a fireball at him. He leaves and he promptly falls down the magically slippery stairs.
Having had all she can take, she grabs her things, and heads out the door. Aislynn tries to stop her, but is met with collateral damage as Kiawin fireballs the wagon and the two oxen. Naxene tries to reason with her, but Kiawin refuses to listen and storms out of Greenfields.
The rest of the group heads back to Waterdeep. On the way, they met up with a lost remnant of the attacking party on Greenfields, a hill giant and two goblins tagging along.
630 xp each
First they relay the message, to Kiawin's Family, that she left Greenfields alone a few days ago. Then they head to see Chazlauth. He greets them and listens to the suggestion of Naxene. He dismisses her idea, but has a suggestion of his own. If they want to know what is really going on and how to approach it, he suggest that they travel to the Kryptgarrden Forest and seek out "Old Gnawbone", a very ancient Green Dragon. He is rumored to possess a collection of crystal balls that he uses to scry on everyone and everything. And if the adventures relay that they want to end the giant threat, he might be willing to help the group. He is a powerful, but eccentric dragon and if what Chazlauth knows about him, and Green Dragons in general, is correct, he doesn't think the dragon woud harm the group, but just in case, he gives the group 3 potions of poison resistance.

The remainder of our adventures head back to the Waterdeep branch of the Nymph's Hair, order drinks and put up a help wanted sign to get another caster for the party. A few people applied, but ultimately, it was a really small Warlock that survived the interview process. Maron is a local "liberator of possessions of things that don't yet belong to her" and "notifier of persons who are soon to be no longer among the living" and joins the group to help increase her funds.
The groups next stop is the Kryptgarden Forest to see an old green dragon. Aislynn determines the quickest way there is to use the teleportation circles to go to Yartar and travel west from there. From Yartar, it is 2 days travel to Triboar and then south on the Long Road to Westbridge, next to the Kryptgarden Forest. In Triboar, the adventures are greeted warmly, Urgala welcomes the dwarves to the still under repairs Northshield House, and the ladies of the group, looking for the finer things in life, go to the mostly unscathed Everwyvern House and the attached Pleasing Platter. The town is slowly being rebuilt, but the biggest change is that the destroyed dive of a tavern called the Talking Troll, is being rebuilt as the first Temple in town, a temple to Tempeeeee... sorry, Tempus, headed by the converted cleric, Silvarren Loomshank. After the Fire Giant attack on Triboar, inspired by Yureak, he went back to Neverwinter, retrived his beloved and return to Triboar to build the first temple in Triboar. Upon hearing of the return of Yureak, Silvarren sought him out to perform the ceremony to marry his beloved. Josgrak ran to the Everwyvern House to get Aislynn for the wedding, and repeatedly hollered over the maitre d' get her attention. With some of the others in town in attendance, Yureak marries the recently converted cleric of Tempus to his beloved.
Headed south to West bridge, when the group sets up camp, the dwarves pull out their Rod of Vonindod and it pulls them to the east. Waiting till morning, the Rod is still directing them east and they divert off the road. Cresting a hill, the adventures see a dig site, 1 fire giant, 3 ogres, 9 hobgoblins and 20 exhausted goblins. The hobgoblins are hollering at the ogres that are pulling on ropes that run down into a freshly dug pit. While they are occupied, Maron turns the others invisible and the dwarves circle around to attack the fire giant, while Maron and Aislynn position themselves on the far side of the pit from the rest. The dwarves attack the fire giant and all breaks loose from there.

After the battle, the dwarves see pure adamantine in the bottom of the pit and refuse to leave it. They plan to go to Triboar to gather supplies to retrieve their treasure. While in their planning stages, 2 trolls drawn by fresh kills and no longer avoiding the fire giant, appear out of the wood line.
900 xp
The dwarves put their plans into action dragging along a disgruntled druid and disenfranchised hired magic-user. They build a quick scaffolding, attach a block and tackle pulley system, and raise the 2,000 pound hunk of adamantine out of the pit, place it on two reinforced wagons and drag their treasure north to Yartar, via Triboar.
As they rest for the night in Triboar, the adamantine draws 2 Fire Giants to Triboar.
2,500 xp
They get the adamantine to Yartar, and plan to use the teleportation circles to travel to Waterdeep and sell the adamantine to Godwin at the Nymph's Hair. Maron and Aislynn refuse to go to Waterdeep, and Maron states that after she gets her cut, she is done. They all go to the teleportation circle in Yartar, Aislynn flashes the Harper coin and the dwarves are wisk to Waterdeep. Aislynn, still n possession of the Harper Coin and Wooden ring, decides to cut her losses, uses the teleportation circle herself to go to Everlund and returns to the High Forests.
The dwarves go to the Nymph's Hair and bargain with a Water Elemental in the absence of Godwin. Mr. Burbles knows he has the dwarves in a bind, stuck with 2,000 lbs of raw material with few people to be able to use it and fewer still able to get it. He offers will below market price and the dwarves are forced to sell with few other options.
Cash in hand and in need of a new magic user, they conduct a new set of interviews for another party member. A Teifling magic user, named Sultry, answers the questions, to find someone who is more Kiawin-like, but more... resilient.

Krowen Valharrow, arch mage of the Harpers at Everlund, continues with his growing concern of restless giant activity. He most recently receives word of a lot of activity in the northwest, specifically from Harper agents in Hundelstone and Luskan. He sends word out for agents and contractors that he has used in the past: an elven ranger hunter named Coras, living nearby, in the High Forest, and a elven rouge sailor last know to be in Waterdeep. He summoned those two, but knows that that will not be enough, they need more help, more protection anyways, maybe not so much in the intelligence department, but more muscle. Then he receives a sending from the teleportation mage in Waterdeep telling him that those dwarves that have been using the teleportation circles recently, want to use it again, but do not have the coin. Krowen thanks fate and tells her to teleport them here.
The dwarves arrive with there new mage and immediately Krowen berates them for getting distracted with the adamantine and losing the coin. But knowing that they are not Harper agents, and dwarves, he knows he has to bargain with them to get them to focus on the task at hand. He states the if they will escort Coras and Faeyre and help with this giant problems, to figure out what has get them riled up and saving villages when needed, that he will tell them of the one place he knows that has a forge than can actually work on adamantine and so where they can actually get fair price for it.
The dwarves agree but state that they need to return to Yartar to give the Warlock her cut of the funds. They do so and then Faeyre directs them to teleport to Neverwinter. From there Faeyre finds passage to the north. They leave posthaste and set sail north along the coast. Early morning of day 2 of travel, before dawn, they approach the harbor town of Port Llast. The fog inland is so thick, the land disappears into the mist, but it is hard to miss the 240 foot frost giant long boat sticking out of the harbor at Port Llast. The dwarves are itching for a fight and they have yet to have gathered a frost giant head. Faeyre sends her familiar to scout ahead and reports that there are 2 giants and a wolf at the front of the boat and 8 or more inland, but with fog, it is hard to determine. Faeyre knows that 10 giants are needed to operate the boat, so that estimate seems right. They use a row boat to approach the long boat. Faeyre flies over the deck to see if the coast is clear and sees nothing onboard at the end of her vision through the fog. Using ropes, the group boards the long boat and silently approaches the front of the long boat. The 2 giants and a large winter wolf are peering intently into the fog, waiting for signals from inland and do not see the adventures approach. They attack and lay low the giants and the wolf, but the fire ball that was cast on board alerts one of the giants on land and he goes to investigate. They dispatch him and that draws another from onland. They also kill him even before he can make it on board.
Then there is a long delay. and nothing can be heard from on land. Faeyre searches the boat for treasure and even goes into the water do see what the giant that was felled before he made it on board had on him. Finally, just as twilight begins to brighten the haze of the fog, the sound of giants wading though water can be heard. As soon as the giants come into view, the adventures attack. The first to return to the long boat are 2 giants with one carrying a winter wolf. On being attacked, the one giant throws the wolf on board and they wade though the water to climb onboard. But just as the adventures finish off this group, more can be heard wading towards the long boat. Three more approach. Having killed 2 and while fighting the last that was onboard, 3 more return to the boat. At the end of their endurance, finally the giants stop coming.

The adventures give what supplies they found on the frost giant's long boat to the town of Port Llast and leave the boat for them to use to help with rebuilding the town. They mount frost giant heads on there own ship and continue north.
While heading north they are approached by a vessel bearing no flags. As they pull up, Faeyre recognizes the scoundrel pirate and he ask for 100 g for ensuring safe passage along the coast. They count 20 pirates and the captain and call his bluff. Yureak throws a grappling hook over to the pirate's ship and much to the pirate's surprise, pulls it closer. Josgrak jumps over to the pirate's boat and starts swinging. Coras aims for the ships captain and quickly takes him down, but not before Faeyre's owl familiar swoops down and steals his hat. Sultry blast the ship's crew with fireballs and soon it is over and they have 2 surviving crew members who surrendered and a pirate ship... and a pirate's hat.
They tow the ship to Luskan and find a failed frost giant attack on that town and the burning hull of their ship blocking the harbor. They take a row boat on shore and make a bargain to sell the pirate ship. Finally they make it to their destination, Fireshear. From there it is 4 days of travel in harsh conditions to get to Hundelstone, or 1 day, while riding a Griffon, but the griffon takes 3 days of intense training and 250 gp each. They decide to take the griffon route and begin there training. At the end of there 3rd day and on the eve of their departing Fireshear to fly north, the town is attacked by frost giants.
12 Frost giants disembark from their longboat and come wading ashore, Josgrak runs up front to hold the line with the towns folk and the rest set up to assist. Sultry haste Coras and he rains arrows into the wading force, Faeyre causes two giants to fight each other and Josgrak assist. But soon after the battle begins, another frost giant approachs from on land. Faeyre recognizes him as Harshnag the Grim from the Gray Hands. He wades into the fray.
As the battle rages, the landing force is being overwhelmed and the giants on the boat prepare to retreat. Sultry and Faeyre fly over to stop there retreat and start to attack the crew of the ship. Having extreme difficulty in moving the boat and having to put out fires, the crew are picked off till finally there are 18 dead frost giants littering the harbor of Fireshear.

After the looting of the bodies and the ship, again, the adventures give most of the supplies to the town, although the ale is broken into to celebrate their win over the frost giants. Harshnag is interested in hearing of the giant activity in the south and along the coast and becomes increasingly worried that the giant activity is not going to get better anytime soon, unless something changes. He lets the group know that he is aware that the ordering is broken, the ordering being the ranking of the giants, with Strom Giants at the top and Hill Giants at the bottom. With the ordering broken, the storm giants no longer have the power to keep the lesser giants in check. Also, King Hekaton, the leader of the storm giants is missing. Harshnag would like to enlist the help of powerful adventures, such as yourselves, to assist him is trying to keep the giants in line, or at least keep them away from the "small folk". He also mentions of a divine oracle, that might have some answers on how to proceded, but that is a long and dangerous journey in the inhospitable lands of the north and the Spine of the World. The adventures say they have to run a quick errand to Hundelstone, but will help Harshnag after.
In the morning, they go to Dasharra in preparation to fly to Hundelstone. The adventures renew there entreaty to buy some Griffons. Dasharra is reluctant to sell, but for the good that the adventures have done for the town, he is willing to sell 3. Even more reluctant to sell an egg, but does sell one with promises to care for the egg.
He leads the group to fly to Hundelstone and they arrive at about sundown. The Faeyre and Coras meet with their Harper contact and report what they have seen as with giant activity. Coras then takes care of the Griffons, hunting and learning there care, and while Dasharra stays in Hundelstone, he teaches Coras, but leaves back for Fireshear in a few days. Sultry plied her trade to the entertainment starved settlement of Hundelstone and the Dwarves drank and enjoyed the entertainment along with the rest of the towns mostly gnome and dwarf population.
In a few days, Harshnag arrives in Hundelstone and the group begins to plan there trek to the divine oracle deep in the Spine of the World. With the group able to fly and to cover ground more quickly, they decide the easiest way would be for the group to meet in Mirabar.
They fly out of Hundelstone and fly directly east, over the Klauthen Vale, toward Mirabar. On the second day, strong winds ground the Griffons, but they are able to take to the air on day 3. On that third day, they are approached by a group of Uthgardt Barbarians mounted on Giant Vultures. Coras is quickly able to dispatch the barbarians even before they get in range.
xp - 975 ea.
They keep one alive to interrogate. After a charm spell, they learn that he is part of the Black Raven tribe and they regularly raid caravans and groups that cross there territory. Learning that the tribe is located a little to the north, the adventures decide to visit.

After a finding there camp, the barbarians attacked and, by keeping there distance, they were able to pluck them out of the sky, killing 70-80% of the clan and all there giant ravens, even killing the eggs, but not before Faeyre grabbed one.

They continued there way to Mirabar and arrived in short order. Faeyre, having procured 2 eggs, decides that she has what she wants and makes up her mind to leave. She gives the coin to Sultry and leaves Mirabar. The group decides to conduct more interviews and runs across a halfing eager to join an adventuring group...... as long as they leave soon, and a wizard.
While in Mirabar, the dwarves learn of a dwarven stronghold, Gauntlgrym, that is rumored to work with adamantine. They decide to head there while the are waiting for Harshnag to get to Mirabar.

On the way to Gauntlgrym they hear a scream and investigate. They find a large group of monsters, hill giants to goblins, holding some humans captive. And as they arrive on the scene, it looks like one of the hill giants is performing a ritual, and one of the human captives is turned into a pig. The adventures arrive and lay into the group. Josgrak and Worvil land and charge into melee, well at least Josgrak does, and the rest rain fire down from above, literally. They dispatch the monsters, keeping one for questioning, after with he is feed to the griffons. They transform the pig back to a human and are rewarded with a home cooked meal. 1062 xp They continue on there way to Gauntlgrym, and land just in time for a celebration. It appears that the group arrived on the stonghold's celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the retaking of Gauntlgrym from the drow. The festivities were just getting started and the group decides to join in, but first, business. They find a mining foreman and strike a deal to trade 2 Rods of location for adamantine for material; weapons, armor and barding for the griffons. As they head down to the armory to conclude the trade, they encounter a group of drow. The drow make for a secret passage in the hallway and the dwarves give chase while the rest of the group provides support. Worvil wonders down where the drow came from and finds 4 dead guards leading to a huge furnace-like structure. The dwarves take down 4 drow, but the rest got away into the hidden tunnels. 1500 xp

The dwarves drug the drow back to the halls of Gauntlgrym. There they learned that further down the hall, where the drow came from, was the adamantine forge and it was cold and empty. It seemed that the drow had stolen Maegera, the fire primordial from the forge. Under interrogation, the drow said as much, as well as that they were from the Drow House of Xorlarrin, and the leader of the raid was Draac Xorlarrin. They were stealing the fire elemental for the head of the fire giants, in exchange for the fire giants help in retaking Gauntlgrym. But who the head fire giant was and where he was was above this soldiers pay grade. The drow were then released into the hands of the local dwarves to help celebrate the retaking of Gauntlgrym from the drow.
Soon after partaking in the local celebration, the adventures returned to Mirabar. Still having most of a ten-day before Harshnag arrived, they used the teleportation circles to do some shopping and was well rested and ready to travel when Harshnag arrived. He lead them northeast from Mirabar into the Spine of the World. It took 6 days of travel, with some minor encounters, before they arrived at the Eye of the All-Father.

They arrived at a doomed entrance carved into the side of a mountain. The open entrance had recent foot prints of a bunch of humanoids heading into the entrance. The entrance lead into a long hallway with a 20 foot high ledge on both side along most of the way. The sound of grunting could be heard from the far end of the hallway, as well as light from a torch that could barely be seen. Pyre turned herself invisible and used her flying broom to investigate.
At the end of the hallway, up giant sized stairs, was a group of Barbarians trying to open the doors at the end of the hall. Pyre greeted them with a fireball and the game was on. It was not long before the adventures cleared the way of the barbarians and took there pet white dragon wyrmling.

With the doors available to them, the adventures tried to open it themselves, and even with Harshnag, had no more luck. Sultry dimension doored herself and Worvil on the other side of the door and arrived in a huge room with 7 large statues, a glowing archway on the opposite wall, and two more entrances on adjacent walls, all covered in a thick layer of ice. She heated the doors to melt the ice to let her companions in while Worvil made a snowhalfling.
Once in the room, they saw that there was one huge statue in the middle, Harshnag identified as the All Father, with 6 other statues, representing each type of giant, knelling to the All Father, presenting a weapon, expect the frost giant weapon was missing. The archway on the far wall had 6 runes carved into the stone, inlaid with mitral, with a glowing mist filling the arch. Harshnag was able to identify one rune as representing ice, and Worvil had actually recognized one as cloud. The 2 adjacent doors were similarly frozen solid with ice.

Finding no other way to decipher the runes, Sultry risk the magical trap to decipher the runes, and triggered an ice storm spell on the room. (Sultry gets an inspiration point). Having solved that riddle, but not knowing what to do next, they thawed out the north door and headed north. Past the door was a stairway on either side, headed up and a life-sized statue of a stone giant facing a long hallway. The hallway contained archways, leading to 60x60 foot rooms, on both sides of the hallway, as far as they could see. Searching the rooms showed them to contain stone couches with some of them containing tattered furs.
Down on the 4th set of rooms, in the west room, on the west wall, was a fissured that had opened up to a natural tunnel. The adventures decided to explore the tunnels and followed it pretty far back, till it came to a fork, Yureak marked to tunnel to not get lost, and took the left tunnel, but was soon met by 4 large ice spiders. The group quickly dispatched the spiders and continued to follow the tunnel. The tunnel then opened into a small cavern. The cavern had one ice spider, but when it was killed, a swarm of spiders hatched from the eggs in the corner. Continuing to follow the tunnels further in, the group kept taking lefts until they reached the end of the tunnel that lead to the outside and the sheer cliffs that the tunnel opened up from. Going back through the tunnels, they found another cavern that had 3 cocooned victims; a goat, a dwarf miner and a recent kill of a barbarian, that might of taken the killing blow after it was cut down and fell.
Continuing further down the hallway, going from room to room, and not finding much, when half the group in the hallway and half in the room, heading out, the rooms were all suddenly sealed off with wall of stone. The 3 in the room; Sulty, Pyre, and Worvil, were trying to get out till they heard a large noise in the hallway. The other 3; Coras, Josgrak and Yureak had at first tried to get to there friends that were trapped in the room, then realized that it was them trapped in the hallway; a 40 foot diameter granite sphere comes rolling down the hallway. Coras and Josgrak dove out of the way, but Yureak reacted to late and got run over. The stone statue at the end of the hall caught the sphere and then began to roll it back up the hallway. Pushing the sphere back "into the wall", the statue walked back down to resume it's station. The group resumed its search in the upper rooms. The hallway looked similar except this one had a statue of a cloud giant and part of the far end of the hallway had collapsed. In one of the rooms, there was a sack that contained a shard of ice, the size of a dagger, with the symbol of the ice rune glowing on it. It was a very rare magic item called the Shard of the Ise Rune.

A flying and hasted ranger, a charging fighter and frost giant and a hard to perceive Halfling made quick work of the remorhaz in the room. But also in the room was a very large and very heavy steel greataxe, that looked like it belonged to the frost giant statue in the previous room that was missing a weapon. The adventures placed the greataxe in the statues hands, but that did not seem to do anything. After much discussion on how to activate the archway, the adventures decided that they needed to "activate" each rune in the order of the giants hierarchy. Worvil volunteered for the task, ushered everyone else out of the room and went about touching each of the runes in order and facing the consequences. Touching the Storm Rune unleashed a Storm of Vengeance which Worvil weathered well. Then the Cloud Rune Reversed Gravity, but Worvil was able to hang on. Next was the Fire Rune, which dropped a fire ball on the room, but Worvil escaped mostly unscathed. Then the Ice Rune, which again triggered an Ice Storm, which Worvil slipped through. Feeling embolden, Worvil touched the Stone Rune, but this released 4 earth elementals and they all charged poor, alone Worvil. The dwarves told him to get out of there, that he can't handle 4 earth elementals in single combat. That just pissed him off and Worvil charged the nearest earth elemental (Worvil gets an inspiration point). Seeing as he was not leaving, Hashnag and Coras charged into the room to help, Harshnag to draw to earth elementals towards him, and Coras thought to complete the touching of the runes by getting the last one. He flew to the Hill Rune and touched it, casting confusion on everyone in the room. That added an element of uncertainty to the combat, but that mostly worked in Worvil's favor, which only seemed to embolden him more. Finally, after defeating the earth elementals, a stone throw at the archway showed that nothing had changed.
Flummoxed, the group devised other way to trigger the archway. Prye cast a spell that caused cold damage to the Ice Rune, to no effect. The Yureak suggested that maybe Harshnag, a frost giant, touch the Ice Rune; yet that just unleased Ice Storm again on him. Then Pyre suggested to touch the corresponding weapon to the corresponding Rune. And seeing as Harshnag was the only one who could lift the weapons, ranging in weight from 500-800 lbs, he touched the Ice Giants Steel Greataxe to the Ice Rune. The Greataxe suddenly disappeared and reappeared in the Frost Giant's statues hand, and the Ice Rune glowed. He did the rest of the Runes, till they all glowed, and Worvil stepped into the misty arch and disappeared. (Pyre gets an inspiration point)
The rest followed him into a Hexagonal chamber with each of the giant types, in each corner, holding lit lanterns. In the centered of the room was a dead cloud giant. As Worvil approached the giant his ghost rose from the corpse. And ask who they were and why they were there. He said he was searching for the Divine Oracle at the Eye of the All-Father, to learn why the ordering was broken and what was to be done, like them. He teamed up with a female Storm Giant named Iymirth, with the same goal. They searched for some months and found it; and figured out how to activate the archway, much like the adventures. But once inside divine chamber, the Storm Giant changed into an Ancient Blue Dragon and killed him. His spirit watched as the dragon asked questions and learned that; the ordering was broken by the All-Father to rouse his children from their complacency, and now each type of giant is trying to curry favor with the All-Father, through deeds and accomplishments, to elevate there giant-type to the top. The ghost is helpful, telling the group there are six lanterns, one for each question they can ask; even offering them his belonging and all he seeks is revenge, if ever they are able.
Pyre stands in the middle of the room and ask: -Q-Where are the drow, who stole the primordial, plan to meet to delivery it? A-That is to be determined. -Q-Where is the King of the Storm Giants? A-Unknown. -Q-Where Is Iymirth? A-In Maelstrom, in the court of the Storm Giants. -Q-How do we get to Maelstrom? A-A magical teleportation conch will take you there. -Q-How do we get one? A-Each of the giant lord possess one. -Q-Where is Iymirth's Lair? A-Unknown
Out of questions they leave to determine there next course of action. The ghost tells them that he believes the lanterns will reset in 24 hours. They adventures wait 24 hours and return to ask:
-Q-Where is the Fire Giant King? A- First, you must prove yourself! When human barbarians came to these lands, they fought our kind and stole our relics, burying them in the ground. The humans built alters to their god-king atop these relics surrounded their alters with burial mounds. Go to these mounds and retrieve our lost relics, and bring them here as tribute. Bring one from each giant type. Do this, and your path we be made clear. Several evil giant lords stand ready to oppose you. You can ruin all of their plans by defeating just one of them. Which one that is remains to be seen.

With the new direction of finding ancient giant relics for the oracle, the group heads out of the Eye of the All Father. Harshnag decided that he should stay here and guard the ancient giant shrine, plus he would not be able to keep up with the group as they fly from point to point.
As they exit the shrine, they see a flying ship, with sleigh runners, held up by a giant red balloon. Grabbing there weapons and readying for an attack, a person on the ship places his hands up to show no intention to attack, lowers a ladder and invites the adventures aboard. Josgrak figures he can at least take them out and then take their ship, so he flyes up, with Worvil, and lands on the ship. Coras mounts his Griffon and flyes up, to circle the ship, with his bow ready. Pyre uses her broom to also fly up. On the ship are 9 Humans dressed in the garb of Dragon Cultist, 8 lined up along the deck, at parade rest, with one apart, in front, welcoming their guest. He stated that they were sent, by the ancient red dragon, Klauth, to assist the adventures in their quest to take care of the trouble with the giants. He offered the ship and her crew for as long as you need them. And if successful, he bids them to come to his hidden vale to receive their reward.
The adventures skeptically accept there offer and bid the crew to take them west, to Raven Rock. While traveling, Pyre, Worvil, Jorgrak and Yureak study the crew to learn how the ship works. Coras keeps a look out in the Crow’s Nest, above the balloon, and Sultry lounges on the deck, trying to be a distraction to the Cultist. One the second day of travel the balloon draws the attention of a group of Manticore. 5 Manticore attack, and with the Josgrak and Sultry manning the Harpoon Ballista, Pyre, Coras and Yureak making range attacks and Worvil hiding, the group make a meal out of the attacking force.
They arrive at an empty plateau with a stone carving of a crow and empty perches. A detect magic spell shows magic emanating from underground, in front of the stone crow statue. A little magic heat to soften the frozen ground and some digging turns up the source of the magic, a ring of hardened magma, sized for a giant. (Fire)
Harshnag’s map showed two relics in this area. Near the plateau, in a depression shaped like a wolf, if seem from above, an alter is found. Another detect magic finds more magic emanating from under the alter. More heat and more digging turns up a 14 foot long red dragon thigh bone, part of which is wrapped in old leather. (Hill)
The next closest one is determined to be Shining White. They find, as they approach, another group of Barbarians, but instead of this group riding Giant Crows, these are on Griffons. There numbers are smaller, and one approaches to inquire who this group of Griffons riders are, and ask if they are the one who it is told devastated the Black Raven Tribe. The group replied in the affirmative and the Barbarians said they wanted to thank the group for clearing out their main rival. They offer the group what they have. Yureak ask were there alter is, and is told that 3 months ago, stone giants toppled their alter and then headed Southeast. A quick scan of the area showed no magic and the group assumes the giants took the relic, and heads to the next one at Flint Rock.
Flint rock showed no signs of life, save a few elk. The depression, shaped like a deer, had an altar. Detect magic showed faint magic under the altar, and the digging began. And hour or two later, they find a 5 ft long mitral spear tip. (Cloud)
Next up is One stone. On there way there, they encounter 2 Chimera. The group dispatch them and arrive at One Stone the next day. One Stone is an island created by a split in the river, and on the island is a plateau in the shape of a winged creature. Where the eye would be located is a boulder. Detect magic cast in the area shows that the magic is the boulder. Pyre cast identify to see what it does and how it works. It allows the user to shrink the boulder to a 6 inch orb. But upon doing to, 2 Bulette are disturbed and attack.

The Bulettes erupted right next to Pyre and Coras. Coras let his rare rage fly for melee combat and Pyre backed off and let the dwarves handle it while she played a support role. Finally dispatching the Bulettes and collecting the relic, (Stone) they boarded the ship and headed to the last burial mound.
The last burial mound was located at Great Worm Cavern. The weather approaching the cavern deteriorated, becoming colder and starting a freezing rain, but the great balloon, holding the ship aloft, melted the freezing rain as soon as it hit, warmed by the fire elemental.
Entering the cave showed a huge, ice covered cavern. Pyre turned Worvil invisible, and he scouted ahead, but undaunted, the dwarves barged in. As Worvil wandered in, he saw large shiny diamonds, scattered on the floor, which were kind of hard to see in the snow and ice. He slipped a diamond into his jacket. Just then, either from Worvil’s lifting of the diamond or the dwarves brazen entrance , a Huge Adult White Dragon erupted from behind a wall of ice. Worvil, eternally grateful for the invisibility, started working his way around the dragon. With an familiar knowledge of Dragons, Coras shouted immunities and variabilities, and, with his bow, found all the spots that dragon wasn’t, even hasted by Sultry. Josgrak and Yureak charged in for melee combat and stopped the dragons advance on the rest of the group. The rest spread out to make breath attacks ineffective, and Pyre landed the first major blow. Drawing the dragons ire, the dragon flapped his wings and knocked down the adventures in melee combat and attempted to fly to Pyre to take out that threat. But, from a prone position, Josgrak stopped the dragons advance, and in successive rounds make the dragon pay for any attack on anyone else. It was not long before being pelted by arrows and magic, and stabbed by swords and knives, that the dragon lay dead at there feet.
The dragon’s horde of many diamonds, gold and platinum pieces, and ivory, two magic items and a giant relic of a battered shield made of red dragon scales, was quickly claimed by the adventures. (Frost)
They return to the oracle and lay the relics on the floor of the Eye of Annam. The relics disappear as they lay them down and a booming voice responds, “You have done a great deed for all giants! Your new path lays before you, choose wisely!” and they are told of the location of the 5 conches, each held by the giant lords.
As they leave, the Eye of Annam and enter the Temple, discussing which giant lord to…visit, they hear the crunch of frost under heavy feet as an enormous blue dragon burst through the main doors of the temple….
