Enemy Fort on a hill, surrounded by a Palisade Fence, approx 15 ft. high. Trees and foliage cleared 60 ft from fence. On the other side of the fence, is a 10 ft or so, burm, where roving guards walk. Also there are boulders, supposedly ammo for throwing Questions: Are the trees at the edge of the clearing level with the Fort, or further down the hill? Are there other buildings in the fort

Rough outline not to scale: Gentle slope leading up towards the palisade. Single 15ft wide gate Palisade is 15ft high, earth berm behind it is 10ft high Hilltop is another 20-30ft higher than the palisade. There is a building to the left of gate, you can make out its wooden roof. You can tell something large moves up on the hilltop itself. (i.e. a giant)

Tally of your attack.
1 Hill Giant 1 Cleric of Earth 1 Fighter dedicated to Bane 6 Supporting fighters 1 Flesh Golem
Things learned Ramos is not here, the cleric you killed was a junior cleric. 1 Hill Giant; 2 Ettins; 2 Ogres; and sizeable force of Orcs and Humans left at first light. All the head priests were called back to the Greater Temple. (See Missives Found post below.) The priest you killed was not the one that created the Flesh Golem. The lab you found would be worth few thousand gold to a necromancer. Notes found tell of battles within the temple forces between the various factions vying for power to appease the Demoness Zuggumoty.

You recovered 9 prisoners. All are in poor health and malnourished. It is painfully obvious they all have been beaten/tortured/among other things. None are of great import or wealth and hail from all over the region.

Immediate concern: We have the fort, but we have a sizable raiding party expected to return. But from where??? Hommlett? Nulb? I doubt either one of those. So how long till they return? We can wait but for how long? And how do we prep for attack against 5 Large, and 20 medium creatures? We have prisoners that probably do not want to stay, and need further assistance. So, take the prisoners back to Hommlett and hope we don't meet the raiding party on the way out, or prepare our defenses and hold the fort?? Future concern: Where is Violet and Falrinth at looking for the soul gems? Where is "the nodes guarded by Zuggotmy's lesser kin." Where is "Numet of Fire"?

Speak with Dead on Dinbeck the Cleric is an option, he gets a Will Save versus your DC. And your 6th Level now right? So that is 3 questions.
You know that Zuggomty is a Demoness at best according to the lore you learned so far.
I think Sultry's knowledge local is high enough to look at the map and see this area rests between too mountain "ranges" to the West and East of the plains.
Military wise, your numbers aren't great enough to have a continuous patrol of the palisade. The Hill Giant and Ettins pose the biggest risk to your group. Even from cover, None of you are skilled bowman either meaning the giant could rain boulders on you.

Ug's 5th Level, so that is 2 questions. Just have to carry the corpse for a while, I don't have speak with dead prepared. Did Dinbeck the Cleric have a Holy Symbol on him? Clue: "nodes guarded by Zuggotmy's lesser kin."?.... "Zuggotmy's lesser kin"?...... Don't tell me. A Knowledge Religion check, right? Ug doesn't know. But Spug has 12 in knowledge religion!

Zuggotmy is a Greater Demon / Demoness. Lesser kin would refer to other Demons/Demonesses. Yes it's a Religion check and/or Planes.
